If one reads the article from Mar 1, 1968, you will see similarities between the "Golden Jet" and the man they call "Jet Lag!"
Craig was "Welcomed Back" to the Elkhorn line up on Sunday night to the sounds of ridicule, admonishment, and the chants of "look at the size of that guy!" He is used to it, throughout his storied career he has faced adversity many times.
Well, the big man delivered with 3 goals and countless assists leading the Horns in 2 critical victories.
"Seriously though, when I saw him enter the room, inside I got this warm feeling, a feeling like we were all going to be taken care of", admired Peter, the Elkhorn GM.
"Mark was not there and we thought we may have a gap, but trust me, that guy getting his knee brace pulled off by Ron and Glen did a job out there".
Craig has been sidelined by a strained MLC which has forced him to sit on the sidelines for most of the season and spend more time at the MLCC.
"It finally feels stable, up until now it has been tough" indicated a very tired Craig after working hard all night. "It's good to be back, I don't like being on the payroll and not contributing like the team needs me to".
Playing with Nathan and Dave (Both Junior Elkhorns) was a great start to the "Franchise" Player's year. "I like playing with those guys, they really seemed to gel with me" touted Craig.
Goals of the night go to Rick Dees for a nice shot from the point, Ron D always seems to be there at the right time, and let's just say that Rick H seems to be on fire lately making opposing goalies look silly. And Tim, he got his fair share of hi lite film! "JK" was a rock in goal as usual. Kevin, hello, where are you?
Glen scored a "beaut" and Randy M continues to frustrate defenders, acquiring the occasional penalty along the way. Tough defensemen are not hard to find on this team.
The Horns fire it up next Sunday at 11 am, giving lots of time for liver stretches before the Super Bowl. Get your livers ready The Herd is coming to Smitty's and they are bringing hell with them!
